- Aboriginal Friendship Centre Program
Improves the quality of life for Aboriginal people in urban environments by supporting self-determined activities that respect and strengthen the increasing emphasis on Aboriginal, cultural distinctiveness, and that encourage equal access to, and participation in, Canadian society.
- Aboriginal Head Start Initiative
Supports development of early learning centres or preschools that are locally controlled and administered by Aboriginal non-profit organizations.
- Aboriginal Women’s Program
Provides funding to enable Aboriginal women to influence policies, programs, legislation and decision making that affect their social, cultural, economic and political well-being within their own communities and Canadian society while maintaining their cultural distinctiveness and preserving cultural identity.
- Canada Council for the Arts
Offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in dance, media arts, music, theatre, writing and publishing, visual arts, and interdisciplinary work. All programs are accessible to Aboriginal artists or arts organizations, and artists or arts organizations from diverse cultural or regional communities.
- Canadian Heritage Multiculturalism Program
Funds community action projects that support communities to identify what prevents their members from participating in society, and/or draw on the communities' strengths to develop solutions; institutional development projects that help public institutions become more open, accessible, inclusive, and responsive to diverse communities; public education projects that encourage people to develop a better understanding of diversity and to take action on relevant issues; and research projects that study and analyze issues related to cultural, ethnic, religious, and racial diversity in Canada.
- Canadian Rural Partnership Pilot Projects Initiative
Funds projects which address priority areas identified by rural Canadians for focused attention, such as the need for better access to financial resources, better access to employment opportunities for youth and better program and service delivery in rural areas.
- City of North Vancouver
Provides grants to non-profit groups to assist with the delivery of services which work to reduce social, economic or physical disadvantage, and/or which improve the quality of life for City residents.
- City of Richmond
Supports the enhancement of a positive quality of life for residents through an annual Grants Program.
- City of Vancouver
There are several programs offered by the City which encourage and support community initiatives that strengthen community spirit and identity.
- Community Action Program for Children (CAPC)
Provides resources to community-based groups to establish and deliver services that address the developmental needs of children aged 0-6 years old whose health is at risk.
- Department of Justice Partnership and Innovation Fund
Promotes innovative projects that help communities shape justice processes that affect their lives. Funding priority is given to: victims; Nunavut; justice system design; family violence; equality, diversity and access to justice; sentencing and corrections.
- District of North Vancouver Municipal Community Grants
Provides financial support to non-profit organizations which are working with each other, government and residents to address North Shore community social issues and needs, and bring about positive social change for North Vancouver District residents.
- District of Sechelt
Grants are allocated to activities which contribute to the health and well-being of Sechelt's residents and which prevent or respond to social problems and/or to activities in the visual, performing, literary arts, historical and multicultural areas which enhance and contribute to Sechelt's cultural life.
- District of West Vancouver
Offer a variety of grants for community organizations to help West Vancouver residents to equitably access the resources, services and programs they need and desire.
- EcoAction Community Funding Program
Provides financial support to community groups for projects that have measurable, positive impacts on the environment, with priority given to projects that help improve air quality, projects that reduce and divert the use of toxic substances that affect water quality, and projects that protect wild animals and plants and improve the places where they live.
- First Peoples’ Heritage, Language and Culture Council
Provides grants to British Columbia’s Aboriginal Communities for language, arts and culture projects.
- Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC)
Wide variety of funding programs including job creation, improving the well-being of people who are homeless, and assistance with community economic development.
- Mounted Police Foundation
Provides funding for projects which reinforce the RCMP's dedication to community policing, such as safe homes, safe communities or other community programs which complement the mission, vision and value of the force.
- The National Crime Prevention Centre
Community Mobilization Program: designed to help groups across the country develop strategies to prevent crime and victimization by addressing their root causes. Some examples of root causes include family factors such as poor or inadequate parenting, and other factors such as substance abuse, inappropriate peer association, poor academic achievement, or a lack of training or employment.
- Shelter Enhancement Program (SEP)
Provides funding to bring existing shelters for victims of family violence up to acceptable health, safety and security standards. Some funding may also be available to provide new shelters.
- Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative (SCPI)
The Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative (SCPI) is designed to support local, community-based efforts to identify priorities, plan and develop appropriate solutions. The SCPI brings together all levels of government, private, non-profit, labour and volunteer organizations to plan and implement local solutions to homelessness. The goal is to reduce and prevent the underlying factors, with a focus on offering long-term solutions as well as immediate care.
